CTE Transitioning Everyone
M-DCPS Career Technical Education (CTE) is impacting the lives of Miami-Dade County students through CTE Career Pathways aligned to 18 Career Clusters, preparing students to be college and career ready. Through CTE programs of study students graduate with world-class academic and technological skills, plus industry-recognized credentials necessary to transition to higher education and careers.
Aligning academic skills in real-world settings within CTE classrooms and instructional labs, allows students to enhance their literacy, math and science skills, furthering their understanding of STEM-related curriculum.
Middle school CTE students explore careers using cutting-edge, industry-standard equipment and software.
With an emphasis on high wage, high demand career preparation and industry certification, CTE high school students participate in programs or career academies, with enhanced activities, such as mentorships, internships, competitions and leadership opportunities in CTE student organizations. These co-curricular activities round out the CTE programs, preparing students for college and careers.
After high school, students can enroll in CTE Post-Secondary programs at
M-DCPS Technical Centers or through dual enrollment during high school.
Students can even graduate high school with free articulated college credits earned through dual enrollment, completion of CTE courses, or achievement of industry certification.
We are committed to improving Career and Technical Education Career Pathways for all students that align with local, state, national, and global workforce forecasts.
Provide educational excellence that ensures all students graduate with world-class academic standards, technological skills, and industry-recognized credentials necessary to pursue their personal, postsecondary and career aspirations.
